Boycott the town of Lexington. As unfortunate as this is, the lack of any other option (until we go to court) makes this the best plan. Start now. No buying anything within the town of Lexington city limits. They want to punish us for shopping there, so don’t. Write lexingtonnc@yahoo.com for details on how we can still beat this annexation…..or call today.

People still ask me what we can do. Here are a few things:
BOYCOTT
Unfortunately, a boycott is the best
and last tool we have left.
It is not what we wanted.
We hold no ill feelings against the citizens of Lexington or the businesses, but it is the Lexington City Council who has accused us of being moochers and is punishing us for shopping in
Lexington.
The Chamber of Commerce who supports this forced annexation. We can shop elsewhere, and in as little as three months the City misleaders will change their minds about the annexation IF EVERYONE WHO IS AGAINST FORCED ANNEXATION STOPS SHOPPING IN
LEXINGTON. The Assistant City Manager recently told our friend Tommy Cox that they were not worried about a boycott, saying “we have been threatened with that before”. Walser doesn’t believe we will do it. WILL WE? Will we boycott or will we take the insult laying down, endure the violation of our human rights like sheep or will we stand up like Americans and exercise our rights to shop anywhere we want? It is only a matter of habit.
Pretend
Lexington is not there and it will be easy.
”The census data on the web suggests that there are 7900 occupied
households in Lexington and 50,000 in Davidson, outside
Lexington. How
many of the 50000 normally shop in
Lexington?? 1/3?? 1/4?? Let’s say
1/4.That says the purchasing being done at, say Food Lion, is approx. 2/3
from the county. So, let’s say that store does, say, $1M per week. A
50% effective boycott could change that hypothetical revenue by one
third, down to, say, 650K. That would be quite enough to bring on
constrictions in the staffing along with who knows what other
ramifications” –Bill Russell
We will NOT boycott thoes businesses who help us and have a sign against forced annexation at their business!
Support rayne brown! By “support” I mean more than just vote for her. She needs donations, and people to help in her campaign, and we all need volunteers to help at the voting booths. We all know that she is our ONLY chance of being DE-ANNEXED, and with her in the House it will be a very good chance – probably a better chance than winning in court, and we will be protected from future annexation attempts.
PROTEST
Donate to the fight…We will need more money as time goes on, and paying for an attorney is cheaper than paying double taxes
“The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all.” - Thomas Jefferson.
