NEWS! THE STUDY COMMISSION IN RALEIGH HAS OFFERED A BILL FOR A MORITORIUM ON ANNEXATIONS. Important notes:   (1)This is only a bill presented to the House, then voted on, then the same thing for the Senate, nothing is final. It still has to be VOTED ON by the Senate and House.(2) It is good news, but ONLY a beginning….now the real hard work has to begin. (3) THIS IS NO GUARENTEE OF ANYTHING – WE HAVE TO KEEP WORKING!We need an all-out blitz on the House and especially the Senate by every person with a phone and/or computer. I am asking that we FLOOD the Senate with calls tomorrow beginning at 10 am and every hour after that. The league of Municipalities will be giving a HUGE resistance and lobbying effort of their own – using tax dollars and every resource they have to kill this bill. We need our combined voices, and we need to be redundant to the point of antagonism, and we need to let

Raleigh know that we expect them to AT LEAST pass this bill! It will NOT pass unless they hear from all of us and hear from us often…..

 We need everyone. Call your friends and neighbors and family – enlist others to call and write emails and letters. I have been told that calls are best (other than visits), but we can all do several contact methods many times. The Senate is especially important. I have listed everyone below – Senators and House Reps. We all know that

Larry Brown, Represenative Dollar, Represenative Dockham and Folwell will support this Bill. Senator Bingham has said – in the past – that he is against forced annexation but he maybe needs encouragement…….Hugh Holliman Said today that he would vote FOR this moratorium, and we need to get him on the record as saying so and thank him for his support (if he will go on the record as supporting this bill, that is). Please write and start calling every hour tomorrow at 10 am. Leave a message with assistants if you do not talk to the Rep or Senator. It is not much trouble for a lot of good…. BELOW ARE ALL SENATORS AND HOUSE REPRESENATIVES!
